Halal cheesesteak, four ways.
A cheesesteak takes more than halal beef to be halal — the slicer and the griddle have to be clean too, not just the meat. Ours are, because nothing non-halal comes through the door. Order it as a sandwich, a wrap, a stromboli, or as our Cheesesteak Pizza — it's all on the same halal menu.
What makes a cheesesteak halal
A cheesesteak passes through three places where a kitchen can go wrong: the meat itself, the deli slicer that shaves it, and the flat-top it gets chopped on. Halal steak run through a slicer that just did non-halal deli isn't halal anymore, and neither is one griddled next to non-halal meat at lunch rush. The equipment matters as much as the beef, and it's worth asking about wherever you order one.
We solved it the blunt way. There is no non-halal product on the premises at all — not in the walk-in, not on the line, not in the deli case. The slicer is halal-only. The fryer is halal-only. The prep tables are halal-only. There is no second set of anything, so there's no schedule to keep straight and nothing to cross-contact. Every meat we carry is certified, and we keep the supplier certificates at the shop and show them to anyone who asks at the counter.
- • Halal-certified steak. Same certified suppliers as the rest of our meat — beef, chicken, sausage, gyro and deli.
- • Halal-only deli slicer. It only ever sees halal product, because that's the only kind we stock.
- • Griddled to order. Meat, onions and mushrooms chopped together on the flat-top when the ticket comes in — not held in a pan.
- • Certificates on request. Ask at the counter or call and we'll walk you through what we source and from whom.
Four ways to order it
Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich
Griddled with mushrooms and onions, white American cheese melted over the top. Beef or chicken — you pick when you order — on our homemade Pizzaro Flat or a hero roll. Add a side: fries, soup, salad, rice or chips.
Philly Cheese Steak Wrap
Same filling — mushroom, onion, white American — rolled in a Pizzaro Flat, a white wrap or whole wheat instead of bread. Easier to eat one-handed at a desk or in the car.
Philly Cheese Steak Stromboli
Mushroom, onion and green pepper with mozzarella, rolled into pizza dough and baked in the brick oven. Comes with a side of tomato sauce for dipping.
Cheesesteak Pizza
Thin-shaved steak with peppers, onions and mushroom over cheese on a hand-stretched pie. A cheesesteak you eat by the slice, and the one to order for a table.
The sandwich comes on our homemade Pizzaro Flat or a hero roll; the wrap swaps that for a white or whole-wheat wrap. Both ask you to pick beef or chicken, and both let you put a side on the order.

Sandwich or pizza?
Get the sandwich when
You're eating alone or grabbing lunch on a break. It's one portion, it travels well, and it's the fastest thing off our griddle. Wrap version if you're eating at a desk; stromboli if you want the same filling baked into dough with sauce on the side.
Get the pizza when
There are two or three of you, or the table can't agree. The Cheesesteak Pizza puts the whole sandwich on a hand-stretched pie that comes out of a 550°F brick oven. Ask for it white — no tomato sauce — if you want it closest to the sandwich.
Not in the mood for steak
The Alaeddin's Hero is the other sandwich people come back for: halal turkey and salami, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar and mayo. Cold, stacked and cut on the same halal-only slicer. We also sell those deli meats by the pound.
Getting one, hot
Pickup at 600 Getty Ave is free and usually ready in about 15 minutes — call it in on the way. For delivery we run our own drivers across Clifton, Paterson, Passaic, Nutley, Garfield, Wallington, Lyndhurst, Bloomfield and Belleville, so there's no third-party markup sitting on top of your order. There's a $15 minimum and a small driver fee, and most runs land in 25 to 40 minutes. Phone and delivery orders are cash to the driver; card works in person and when you order online. Feeding a crowd instead? Ask us what we can put on a catering tray — give us about 24 hours' notice on the large ones.

Halal cheesesteak questions
- Is the cheesesteak actually halal?
- Yes. The steak is halal-certified, and so is every other piece of meat in the building — there is no non-halal product on the premises at all. That matters more for a cheesesteak than for most sandwiches, because the meat gets sliced and griddled in a shared kitchen. Our deli slicer, fryer and prep tables are halal-only, so there is nothing for it to cross-contact. Supplier certificates are kept on file and we'll show them to anyone who asks.
- What's on the Philly cheesesteak here?
- Mushrooms and onions griddled with the meat, then white American cheese melted over it. No Cheez Whiz — real American slices. Beef or chicken is a required pick when you order. The sandwich comes on our homemade Pizzaro Flat or a hero roll; the wrap version swaps in a white or whole-wheat wrap. Add a side of fries, soup, salad, rice or chips at checkout.
- What's the difference between the sandwich and the Cheesesteak Pizza?
- The filling is the same idea; the format is not. The sandwich is one portion in bread or a wrap. The Cheesesteak Pizza spreads thin-shaved steak, peppers, onions and mushroom across a hand-stretched pie with cheese under it, so it cuts into slices and feeds a table. If you're ordering for two or three people, get the pizza; regulars often ask for it white, with no tomato sauce, so it tastes more like the sandwich.
- Do you deliver a halal cheesesteak to Paterson or Passaic?
- Yes. We deliver with our own drivers to Clifton, Paterson, Passaic, Nutley, Garfield, Wallington, Lyndhurst, Bloomfield and Belleville — no Grubhub or DoorDash markup on top. - Can I get it without mushrooms, or made spicy?
- Yes to both, but tell us when you place the order rather than after. The meat, mushrooms and onions are griddled together to order, so once it's cooked the mushrooms can't be pulled back out. Jalapeño or green peppers can go on the sandwich, the wrap or the pizza. Extra cheese, sautéed onion, olives, pickles and fresh garlic are all on the add list too.
